Au currently a 4th Dan has trained under the guidance of Brian Mackie, an 8th Dan Hanshi Shihan and Chief Instructor of Oceana I.K.G.A. since 1993 , starting when he was just 5 years old. Au continues to actively train and improve his skills under Brian Mackie Hanshi and also travelled to Japan on multiple occasions to train under Goshi Yamaguchi, Grand Master of the International Goju-Kai Karate-do Association. Training in Karate provides many physical and mental benefits, but it’s the self-discipline developed which helps and carries over into everyday life and the confidence and self-awareness it brings a person which Au wants to pass on and help others achieve.
